Message from the President

Hi PBTC members,

I hope you're doing great. We had a fun club mixer on Friday the 13th and we have another one coming: our French Open Mixer on May 27. Start your Memorial Day weekend with fun tennis and socializing! The mixer starts at 6:00pm and is free for members, $5 for non-members. We'd appreciate your signing up for the event on our website under "Events."

At our most recent Board of Directors meeting on Monday, May 16, we began a review of our club by-laws and discussed revisions that are needed to reflect our daily operations and requirements from the city under our special use permit (SUP). If you have any suggestions for improving our by-laws please let one of the board members know. Alternatively, a revision to the by-laws can be initiated by a petition from the members. Please contact me if you'd like more information on the process involved.

In an effort to gather accurate information about our members, as well as to understand what our members' priorities are, please update your profile on our website, where several new questions have been posted. To do this, log in, click on the 'Membership' tab, click on 'Join or Renew' at the bottom of that page and a tab for editing your profile will come up. Simply click on that tab and your profile will appear.  Remember to save any information that you add.

Got something tennis-related to share?  Won a tournament?  Got any great tennis pictures? Doing something fun our tennis friends would like to know about? We want to hear from you! Send your newsletter submissions to Donna at PB10s@aol.com by the end of the month to be included in the June Newsletter!

We have Pickleball on Sunday, May 22. If you've not yet tried pickleball, mark it on your calendar and come on out! Also, please remember we have a junior tournament (USTA Powell Blankenship) coming on the final weekend of May and the first weekend in June. Limited courts will be available to members. On June 25 there will be a 3.0 WTT Tournament from 12pm to 6pm.  Teams are now forming. Visit our website for more information which you'll find under 'Events'. There are also fliers in the club house.

Our next Board Meeting will be Thursday, June 2, 7:00pm at the club house. In addition I will be holdingDonuts with David in the morning of June 1 and a Pizza with the President the same evening at 6pm. Come with your questions, suggestions, and your appetite!

Finally, please do one more task for PBTC and fill out a quick survey on the DeAnza Revitalization Plan website. This survey can be found at http://www.deanzarevitalizationplan.com. Click on "Get Involved" and you'll be taken to the survey. The survey asks you to select up to five activities from a drop down list. Please prioritize a tennis facility. With your input, hopefully our tennis facility will be included on ALL the plan alternatives!

See you at the courts!
