The Steve Adamson Tennis Academy at the Pacific Beach Tennis Club is directed by Director of Tennis Steve Adamson, 2011 USPTA San Diego “Coach of the Year."
Our programs offers a full range of junior tennis activities to help your child grow from learning to hold the racquet to competing in national tournaments. Our highly experienced pros will make sure your child has all the tools they need to develop a life long love for the sport.
LITTLE ONES – Little Ones is designed to offer a playful and fun tennis experience for ages between 3 and 5. The balls, net, court size, and racquets are tailor-made for their size and age.
BEGINNER – The Beginner class is the next level up from Little Tennis for ages 6 through 8. Players begin working on improving their technique while also learning how to hit the ball over the net from half court.
INTERMEDIATE 1 – Intermediate 1 is open to children ages 8 to 13. Now working with a brief knowledge of the game's fundamentals and technique, these players are learning how to rally over the net from service line and baseline.
INTERMEDIATE 2– Our Intermediate 2 class continues to work with players ages 7 to 13 who want to prepare for high school tennis and tournaments. These players start to learn pattern play while keeping the ball in play at higher levels of accuracy.
ADVANCED – This program is designed for high-level players ages 9 and older who want to achieve a Southern California ranking while playing tournaments. Players are working on how to play matches, focusing on strategy and player style preference while incorporating the proper footwork and technique.
TOURNAMENT - This program is by tryout or invitation only. These players already have a Southern California and a national ranking.
